Dear Cat Lovers

The Association of Croatian Felinological Organizations (Savez felinoloških društava Hrvatske, SFDH) is happy to invite all breeders, exhibitors and lovers of cats to join us in Zagreb, Croatia, on the 27th and 28th October 2012 for the greatest “Cat fest” of 2012 – the FIFe World Cat Show.
It was a long road for SFDH and Croatia that lead to organizing the World Show, and presenting the significance of this manifestation to local and national institutions required a great effort.

But the results are here. World Cat Show 2012 will take place under the auspices of the Mayor of the City of Zagreb and the Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Croatia. Both are working toward furthering the quality of the Show. For that we are immensely grateful.

It is great news that the venue chosen for the Show is Arena Zagreb, a beautiful, new complex built for the World Handball Championship in 2009. The Arena complex offers 800 parking places and some 30 parking spots for coaches. Right next to Arena Zagreb, a large “shopping centre” with numerous shops, cafes and restaurants was opened in 2010. Arena is a 10-15 drive away from the centre of the city.

SDFH’s new partner and sponsor, Kompas.Hr tourist agency gave us tremendously important assistance in organizing the entire World Show. They know absolutely everything there is to know about accommodation (any shape or form you like), about the best restaurants, sightseeing tours, nights out, tourist trips (before or after the Show) and other important aspects of organization. It goes without saying that many of their number love and own cats.

Gala dinner is being organized together with Kompas.Hr in one of the most beautiful old five star hotels in the centre of Zagreb. Great food, live music, lots of dancing space and international hits.

During adjudication on the 27th October 2012 and during pauses of Best in Show on Sunday the 28th October, we prepared an interesting and varied programme for you. We shall also be organizing sculpting and painting workshops for children in other parts of the Arena Zagreb complex.

Finally, we can say that we are all looking forward to this great event and hoping you will turn out in numbers. We shall, on our part, together with our sponsors and partners, attempt to make each moment you spend in our city and our country a pleasant one.

Along with trying to organize the World Cat Show 2012 as well as we can, we also intend to present the city of Zagreb and Croatia as special and prestigious tourist destinations they are.
